You are, of course, correct; I was confusing the issue by referring to X25. I&#039;m glad that I blogged about it, so that the issue came to light.

I have updated this post to remove all references to X25 documentation, correct all references to wire packets sent during socket termination, and add references to relevant TCP documentation.

From what I can see, the errors in the previous version of the post do not make any difference to the code for the shutdown methods that I&#039;ve implemented for jython sockets; if you or anyone else knows otherwise, I&#039;d be happy to hear about it and make the relevant changes.
